Ducab’s early years saw a dedicated team of 86 employees who delivered the company’s first cables in 1980. Driven by the UAE’s rapid growth, the company quickly expanded beyond borders, stepping into the Indian market in 1988. By 2001, Ducab became a fully UAE-owned entity, equally shared by the governments of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, firmly establishing itself as a leader in the nation’s industrial development.
With a forward-looking approach, Ducab has steadily grown its capabilities. In 2005, a second manufacturing facility was opened, followed by a copper rod plant in 2008 to support local infrastructure needs. The opening of Ducab High Voltage (HV) in 2011 marked the Middle East’s first dedicated high and extra-high voltage cable facility, enabling Ducab to support major energy projects across the region. In 2020, Ducab expanded further with the creation of Ducab Metals Business (DMB), making it the region’s only provider of comprehensive copper and aluminium solutions.
In recent years, Ducab has deepened its commitment to sustainability and global reach. In 2023, Ducab designated India as its new home market and opened an office in Bengaluru, aligning with the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). That same year, the company launched Blade, a smart factory of the future project powered by Industry 4.0 technologies, setting a new standard for sustainable, cutting-edge manufacturing.
Expanding into 20 new markets in 2024, Ducab now reaches communities across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, broadening its presence to 75 countries. This growth aligns with the UAE’s ‘Operation 300bn’ strategy, positioning the UAE as a global hub for innovative, high-quality products.
